Confidence Calling

It often goes unnoticed just how important confidence is in every aspect of life. A proper amount can be incredibly beneficial and help you unravel your divine purpose, while a lack can lead to a less fulfilling existence.

If you don't struggle with confidence, that's awesome- keep it up! However, if you're lacking in the self-confidence area, it can be challenging to build. But before you start your ascent, you must first understand its importance and the effects self-confidence has on an individual.

What is confidence?

The definition is listed as “the feeling or belief that one can rely on someone or something; firm trust; full trust; belief in the powers, trustworthiness, or reliability of a person or thing. Self-confidence is a belief in your own powers, trust in yourself, and knowing you are reliable.

There are many benefits in developing confidence.

HEALTH

It's widely understood that people with confidence lead healthier lives. When you're confident, you experience more positive emotions such as happiness and optimism. In turn, these positive emotions are responsible for reducing stress and helping fight off mental illnesses like depression and anxiety. On the opposite side of the coin, a person with low self-confidence can struggle with negative thoughts and emotions making it extremely difficult to make healthy decisions and look at life optimistically.

DECISION MAKING

Though everybody can sometimes wrestle with self-doubt, people with confidence have an easier time making sound decisions. And when they don't go according to plan, these folks don't have trouble adapting and rearranging. Conversely, when there's a lack, negative inner dialogue creates chaos and can propel indecisiveness.

IMPROVED RELATIONSHIPS

Confident people are comfortable with themselves and don't always pay much attention to how others perceive them. In short, they're not always self-focused, which can lead to honesty and happiness in relationships. Confidence raises one’s vibration and makes them more attractive.

On the other hand, people with low-self-confidence are often worried about how they're perceived by everyone around them and can become dependent on others for support.

MOTIVATION

When you lack self-confidence, getting motivated to chase your dreams can feel like you're on a hamster wheel. However, a confident person will view previous achievements and use those accolades, no matter how minor, to build more motivation for future successes.

HIGHER ACHIEVEMENTS

Just as a lack of confidence impairs you from trying new things, confident individuals trust themselves and gain courage to go out of their comfort zone. They take advantage of new opportunities and are not worried about asking questions or even of failure. This mindset enables confident individuals to achieve more than their counterparts.

RESILIENCE

Though confidence doesn’t protect you from failure, it does help you reframe it as learning or growth. It enables you to overcome obstacles and setbacks, knowing these are just part of the process. Instead of giving up when you are knocked down, confident people are the ones who will get back up again for another round!

FINAL THOUGHTS

Being confident means, you trust yourself and your judgment. It means living a life where you're more apt to do good things for yourself and having an optimistic outlook. However, if you're struggling in this area, let me reassure you that confidence is not an inherent trait. It's a skill that can be developed with the right tools and support.
